Friends in Stormy Weather... Chapter 11

We are back in action.

A lot has happened in the extra 2 weeks I spent getting new pages together. One part is a surprise the paid supporters have already heard about, and you’ll hear about soon—SORRY! I know! But they are shelling out between four and twenty quarters a month! I gotta give them goodies so they keep tossing coins in the bean-can!

BUT, there are 2 changes I can already tell you about!

1) I did a big re-frame of the narration with Pen struggling to draft a letter to an old friend who left Floating Island after the events in GOODBYE CLOUD TOWN HIGH. When the volume is printed, this should all be clear. For now, just know this framing sets up the pages below.

2) I have a strong outline for the FINAL VOLUME of Friends in Stormy Weather. It should wrap up within a year or so, and I’m very happy with it. There’s wiggle room, and at least ONE BIG CONFLICT that I’ll need to sell really well to make it all work. But the bones are good. Perhaps it’s no surprise that we will be landing on the same beat I planned many years ago when I pitched CLOUD TOWN as a 3-book series. Sometimes stories just don’t want to end until the right moment.
